Kaka then went on to reveal that his former team-mate and ex-Merengue superstar, David Beckham, had given him a few words of advice about the switch to the Spanish behemoths.
He said, “Beckham said to me that Real Madrid are a fantastic club to play for, and that it would help me grow even more as a player.
“I am excited to play alongside historical figures such as Raul and Iker Casillas, and I want to play a key role to help the club create history again.”
Finally, he admitted that the deal had been closed “a long time ago”, but he decided to wait until today to speak to the press after the clubs had released an official statement.

"In agreement with the club, we have decided to bring forward the expiry of my contract," said the 49-year-old after the Rossoneri's final match of the Serie A season, a 2-0 success at ACF Fiorentina. In a sensational twist, Milan patron Silvio Berlusconi has announced that Kaka will be staying with the Rossoneri!
Talks have been taking place all day between Manchester City directors, Kaka's father and Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani.
It had appeared that a resolution had been found as reports stated that Milan had accepted City's £107m bid.
A statement confirming Kaka's departure was expected within the next 24 hours, but Berlusconi has made an amazing declaration.
“You can't force anyone to stay at a club against their will,” he said live on TV.
“A player who is getting paid half his potential earnings elsewhere runs the risk of becoming unhappy.
“Nevertheless, I will make an announcement - Kaka will stay at Milan because he prefers the Rossoneri and puts love above money.
“The negotiations were closed by myself and Kaka in person. All that remains to be said is long live Kaka!”
